Happy New Year to you.
What an interesting start, just as I was all fired up ready to conquer the world the white stuff fell and made me stay at home. I guess it has given me the chance to catch up on outstanding admin and also plan a little for the next few months. I find planning interesting as I like to be thorough but then there are always seems little thoughts that pop into my head a few days later and I have to go back and tweak things. I sometimes think my mind is a bit like that messy kitchen drawer – you know what is in there it just takes a while to find it. Anyway whats new for the beauty industry at the moment? Well I did have a very delicious Lava shells massage treatment by the lovely Lisa at Rhinefield House and surprised by the heat that these little tiger clam shells give off. I am hoping to run a training course soon. The semi-permanent lash extensions are still hugely popular and with new gold and silver ones around for christmas I feel that they will be here to stay. Qualifications are changing, again! Out with the holistic therapies and in with complementary therapies. New diploma courses are now being offered which have excellent content. The level 3 diploma contains massage, aromatherapy and reflexology and all very thoroughly. If you want to find out more come along to my open evening. The point of these changes is to offer credits for each unit undertaken, thus allowing these credits to be used for the UCAS clearing system to gain entry to university degree courses. There was rather a gap in the advanced qualifications in the beauty area so all qualifications will soon be following this new format. Oh how I will look forward to the related paperwork.
I decided not to talk about good and bad practice in this blog as I wish to start the new year on a positive note.
